My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

I have a golden retriever who sheds a lot. Normally, there'll be gatherings of hair all over our house, but you can tell that the pieces of hair came out seperately, and just happened to gather together. But, the past week or so I've been fiding actual chunks of hair around the house. Should I be worried?

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

My goldens' undercoats will come out in chunks this time of year as the winter coat develops and also again when they blow their winter coats in spring. As long as the coat does not look patchy, all you need to do is give him regular really good grooming until this phase passes.

My dogs are fed superpremium food (California Natural), one is hypothyroid and one is not but they both do this. They get baths and grooming from a professional once a month and are brushed regularly. We still get chunks occasionally and it usually signifies that we need a good grooming session.

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

Yes, get her thyroid levels checked. It is not normal for clumps of hair to be falling out. It is a quick and relatively inexpensive blood test. It is always smart to rule out all medical issues, good luck!

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

how old is your dog? hair falling out is a symptom of hypothyroidism which goldens are prone to having. either way, take him to the vet. it could be that or skin infections or allergies or mange or any number of things.

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

I would be concerned. Stress? Diet? Any changes in your household lately? Have you been stressed or home less? Is your dog getting enough exercise? Is the dog pulling out the hair or is it falling out?

Best thing, as always, is to check with your vet though.

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

loosing clumps of hair is a sign of a mange and can be given to people, so get him to a vet asap and can become a problem if not taken care of

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

Its possible that he/she is shedding to make room for the winter coat. My oldest dog will shed in clumps twice a year once around this time and the next is in the spring around april. If you notice any bald spots on your dog thats when you need to worry. Dogs also can shed lots when they are stressed. If you do notice bald spots I suggest you take him/her to see teh vet.

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

um...maybe

it could be some sort of mange :(

or her skin is just irritated and she's pulling it out to make it feel better..

golden retrievers are big shedders though..

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

YES TAKE IT TO THE VET, SHE MIGHT HAVE AN INFECTION OR SOMETHING REALLY BAD WITH HER.

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

Do you brush the dog regularly? It's not normal for a dog to be shedding that much if you are brushing regulary and feeding good food. Take her to the vet and find out if there is a problem with the thyroid, or something else. Or buy yourself a good vacuum.

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

"Chunks" of hair is not normal. Especially if you groom the dog alot. Is the dog in the house for the winter? That will throw off the natural shedding. Maybe also try a high quality feed with lamb and rice as the main ingredeint. I had a dobe do that, I got away from the discount store feed and it fixed the problm. Especially wal marts ol roy....Thats trouble!

My dog's hair is falling out; should I be worried?

do not worry ,buy him a wig and call a vet ....soon

Cute hair cuts?

I'm a brunette, with a round face.

Since it's summer, my hair goes up an awful lot more.

I like having my bangs/front pieces down, and my hair is almost perfectly straight.

I'm not even getting an inch off the main length, and i don't know if i want side swept/side bangs or any style.

I look awful with straight bangs, though.

with curls: http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p156/...

straight%26down:http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k59/xn...

What should I do to it?

Cute hair cuts?

Micha Barton usually threads the light waves. She also has side SWEPT bangs. not side bangs, but side swept so you should start with that. You don't want to over do the curly-ness, so, i suggest you can try sunsilk wavy/curly shampoo. It'll add those 'natural' looking waves. If its not enough, curl a few bits of your hair with a curler on low heat. Ive also noticed that she parts her hair slightly off the center, so you can do that as well. She has very tame hair, and the thickness is perfect. You can achieve this by using hair oils every now and then, and then washing over the weekend. Also, believe it or not, yougurt and bananas will help boost moisture and give you that settled hair without having to thin it.

I PERSONALLY LIKE YOU HAIR WHEN ITS STRAIGHT ...BUT IN THE END ITS UR CHOISE!!

Good luck!

Cute hair cuts?

i would go for layers in your hair and mabey make the layers come around your face

Cute hair cuts?

Bald

Cute hair cuts?

LAYERS LAYERS %26amp; MORE LAYERS!!! these would look super cute with your look...i would recomend side swept bangs it would make ur hair even cuter than it already is! also when u get it cut (if u follow my advice) ask the hair dresser 2 cut ur layers w/ a razor, it gives great detail %26amp; %26amp; is very new.

hope i helped :)

Cute hair cuts?

Get short layers that start and the bottom of your ear lobe, then have them go down. It will look cute if you decide to curl it or whatever. I suggest that you get front bangs like Nelly Furtado, i think that your hair color would look awesome in it! But i think short layers are a definate!

Good luck =]

Another hair dying question.......?

ok i'm getting mixed messages from everyone!!!

my mom says that if i dye my hair platinum blonde, it'll eventually grow back in the natural color.

but then my aunt told me to cut off a piece of my hair now so i can remember the original color because supposedly once u dye it, the original color is distorted forever.

so what's the truth?

Another hair dying question.......?

No, it will eventually grow back in the original color. However, you won't be able to color the bleached hair to your natural haircolor. What bleach does is it puts holes in the hair shaft. So the hair is damaged, and will take color too much at first, then it fades out because it can't hold on to it.

Another hair dying question.......?

your mom is right

Another hair dying question.......?

never listen to "expert eddies" (know it alls) ask a hairdresser!! since i am one ill answer for you. no matter what colour you dye your hair the regrowth (the hair growing through) will always be your natural colour BUT remember that it is new hair so it hasn't had time to naturally lighten with sun, elements and age so it will appear darker. your natural hair on the ends will always be a little (or sometimes a lot) lighter than the roots,if your hair is long you can have a look at the difference in the mirror by holding the ends to your roots. no dye changes your natural colour forever.your natural hair colour can change through stages of your life sometimes such as blonde.as a blonde gets older the hair colour can darken. just remember what ever you decide your root colour will always appear darker.this is an example.

If you have light brown hair and you dye it blonde, the new hair that grows through will appear more a medium brown.

good luck..and by the way don't ever do a blonde yourself.always get it done professionally by a salon or you will regret it.hairdresseres see blonde disasters all the time and the client ends up paying twice as much to try and fix it.

Another hair dying question.......?

Your mom is right..

:]]

It will start growing from your roots..

:]]

But bleaching hair takes away nutrients from your hair and makes it dry..

Juss warning you..

Good luck!!

:]]

Hope i helped..

:]]

Another hair dying question.......?

Your original hair color is your hair color forever, they wouldn't make hair dye if you dye your hair and it is different . . . Hair dye dyes the hair you have on your head now not what you have yet to grow.

Another hair dying question.......?

the truth is your hair will always grow back in 2 weeks or a month in that time you can see the root of your natural hair. you can continue to dye the color that you would like or if you decide to go back to your natural color you can buy the color that matches your natural color. the other choice is to let it grow until most of your hair is your natural color and then cut off the rest

Hair relaxer problem?

my mom relaxed my hair a week ago %26amp; she blow dried %26amp; flat ironed it. i left it up in a ponytail for a week, now im away at school and a piece of my hair feels really hard almost crunchy and kind of sticking to my scalp, i just noticed this today when i yook the ponytail down. i've never had this happen before %26amp; i've been getting relaxers since i was like 5...so if i was it will it go away...? what do i do:?

Hair relaxer problem?

What might have happened was you didn't rinse all the relaxer away. Just shampoo your hair with warm water and it's gone. Past experience from doing hair. Good luck-L

Hair relaxer problem?

Keep bruching it out and washing it to get it eb=ven with the rest of your hair.

Hair relaxer problem?

the chemicals could have burn that part of your scalp. Try putting some hair grease on it, that should soften it up. if it gets worse, you may want to seek a beautician.

Hair relaxer problem?

This has happened to me before. Just wash your hair and it should go away. Maybe the relaxer was left in a little too long.

Hair relaxer problem?

Give it another good washing. That's probaly what it needs. The products you used to keep it down neatly could have also contributed to the stiffness.

Hair relaxer problem?

That always happen to me. I been getting relaxers since I was 5 too because my hair is thick and long. Just leave it alone, It well go away when you wash your hair.Sometimes it might have been a hair bump or sore you didnt noticed and the relaxer had bothered it. But it should go away when you wash your hair one to two times.trust me.

Hair relaxer problem?

You should wash it out, grease it real good, don't blow dry, wrap it up good ,comb throughtly, and don't put in a ponytail all the time. That what been happen to my hair and i am trying to stop and have nice healthier hair and i am going to start my this week. The reason why i am starting to get my hair back like it was because i been going thought alot of thing lately. Just started using INFUSIUM23.

Hair relaxer problem?

just wash it and then brush it. it will help:]

Hair relaxer problem?

This is normal. I use to get a relaxer all the time. Each time I had a relaxer the same thing occured with me. It's from a sore that may have occured on your scalp from the relaxer. It's similar to getting a blister and the watery substances hardens the hair in that area, making it feel sticky and such. Don't worry about it, it will go away. Your scalp may also become tender in that area. Nothing to be concerned about.
