Can I put conditioner in a synthetic hair piece (extension)?

I have a Jessica Simpson synthetic hair piece I bought a Pyramid for a little over $100.00. I wear it once a week or so and I try to be careful with it, but it looks like crap at the end! Can I put a hair conditioner in in the ends, I mean a conditioner for real human hair? Thanks!

Yes you can, it should not harm the piece. Use cool water though, never hot.

For complete cleaning these are the instructions I got from a wig store/stylist who has been in business many years;

Synthetic hair pieces-instructions if you don't have wig products on hand.

Use "Sudsy Ammonia" when you are in a pinch!

Baby shampoo will not harm your syn fiber but may not get the fiber completely clean.

Use 1/2 cup of the Sudsy with 1 1/2 quarts of cold water and soak for 10 minutes. Use 1 tsp of Downey fabric softner in your final rinse water and do not rinse out.
