I am 15. Use a straightening iron daily. Shampoo every other day, condition weekly. No blowdrying or hair spray. Straightening perm 6 months ago. Breaking started about 3 months ago.
Why is my hair breaking off in 1/4 in pieces, and in general looking unhealthy?
I am the same age and I have a perm. A few months ago, my hair started falling out. I went to the doctor, where they told me that I wasn't getting enough vitamins, drinking enough milk, and drinking too much sodas. So, my advice is if you aren't already taking vitamins, start now. There are several good varieties for teens at Wal*Mart. And if you drink a lot of sodas, start drinking more water. I did this and my hair has stopped falling out/shedding and has gotten thicker and shinier. Teens have oilier hair, this I know for a fact. So, the above answers would obviously not work for you. You hair would look extremely greasy if you only washed it every month or even every week. My hair gets oily every few hours. So, just take vitamins and don't drink soft drinks. :) Good luck!

no wonder it's breaking up if your ironing it daily. You should only wash your hair once a month and let the natural body oils keep it in condition.NEVER use shampoo, it kills the roots, and using conditioner is hair suicide as itdepletes the hair of its natural vitimin

honey, you are overprossessing your hair give it time shampoo once a week every month or ask a beautician. the straightening applies to much heat if you use it on a low temperature. i don't know about perms since my hair is course, dry,and sucks up oil if you're not careful it can eat up your hair.read the instructions before you do a perm or ask someone with experience to find out what kind of hair rype do you have so how long it has to stay in and take it out quickly but don't scratch before you do it might burn.
