What do I do with my hair now?!?

I just used Revlons frost and glow highlighting kit for my darker blond and I will be the first to admit I really didn't know what I was doing. I decided not to use the cap and instead selected pieces of my hair to highlight (I see now that was a mistake) and I now have these Zack Morris from saved by the bell yellow "streaks" more like blotches and chunks going throughout my hair. Please help me!

The *best* solution would be to go to a salon and have it professionally corrected, but that might cost you a couple of hundred bucks.

A cheaper alternative is to put a color close to your original color over it. Don't buy cheap color or your hair will be fried. Use the conditioner that comes with the color to thoroughly moisturize your hair. You can actually leave that conditioner on overnight by wrapping your hair in a plastic bag, then securing it with a clip. The next morning, rinse it really well.

Wait at least a week before you try to highlight it again, and don't do it yourself! Get a good friend or your mom or sister to help you do it artistically, so the streaks are thinner and more natural looking.

I like the double process L'Oreal color that comes with the natural shade as well as the lighter color for highlighting. The nice thing about these kits is that the highlights are just a few shades lighter than the natural color, so it comes out looking like you just came from a week at the beach, with naturally sun-lightened streaks.

Also, if you want the highlights to be the right color, you absolutely must leave the bleaching agent on the hair for as long as they say, or you will end up with reddish yellow.

Good luck!
